The Lovelorn Poet from Rhode Island wrote:
“That was another special moment we shared that I find hard to forget.
But that was the story of our relationship, someone or something always came along to ruin the moment.”
There certainly are those relationships that seem doomed from the start – rocky shores, rough sailing, and sea-monsters galore. But despite the chaos, the fact remains that two people come together for a reason – and it’s usually a good one (“I like spending time with you because…“). How we complete that sentence determines the buoyancy of our flotation device.
Gentle Readers: In reviewing the emotions expressed by this lovelorn poet, is inquiring after the well-being of the brokenhearted (also known as the one who got dumped) ever a good idea? Why is it that we often feel the need to reconnect with those who we’ve chosen to break up with?
