The light came on in Augusta,
yet you rode those fumes all the way to Saco.
At least, up until the point you ran out of steam a block from the gas station.
So we grabbed a Slurpee cup and shanghaied some petrol in the hopes of coming round that bend…and we did.
It took a little pushing to get the beast motored in for refueling.
Afterward… well, you know how the rest of the night went.
It was great… time spent with you always is.
We haven’t known each other long at all, but that doesn’t change a thing.
I look forward to seeing you again, whenever that may be.
Until next time…
Note from the Chief Bottle Finder: There are so many great songs about being on the road – The Girl With the Far Away Eyes by The Rolling Stones, Neil Young’s Roll Another Number, and one of my personal favorites, Wilco’s Passenger Side. The line “Can you take me to the store and then the bank? I got five dollars you can put in the tank” makes me crack a smile every single time.
