Her Two Cents on Egg in the Ocean
There is something so stark and sad in this message from our lovelorn Seattle poet.
For humans, outer space and the sea are the final frontiers with limited accessibility – we may travel through them but may never feel truly at home as we are forever tied to our need for oxygen. It is a unique individual who can devote their lives to exploring these beautiful, albeit isolated, environments.
As our Rocket Man knows, it’s lonely out in space and Mars ain’t no place to raise your kids.
Gentle Readers: There are so many great films that explore the loneliness of space, Moon is one that immediately comes to mind. While we often fantasize about the deliciousness of breaking away from our commitments and responsibilities and “disappearing,” would you be happy being completely alone for days, even weeks, at a time?
