My Dog Almost Peed on Your Dog
It was today, around 5 or 5:30pm.
You were at the park exercising, wearing black and had a black hat on.
I was relaxing on a blanket in the shade.
Our dogs ran over to meet each other and we both watched as my dog nearly peed on yours!
We laughed it off and exchanged a few words.
You stopped to talk to me for a minute as you were leaving.
I said our dogs were fast friends and we talked about how they were getting older.
As you walked away I was wishing that we had talked for longer.

The colors and textures are so lifelike – almost as if I could feel the dog’s fur in my hands or the woman’s knit cap on my head. I can only hope that our lovelorn Austin poet has this vibrant of an experience at the dog-park.
