Ford Ironman (Swim Finish)
I did not finish the swim portion of the event in time, and was disqualified for that.
As I was leaving, I still had my earplugs in and could not hear you, but I turned and saw you clapping.
(I assume it was for me since everyone else was long gone by then).
I thought that was a very kind and courageous act, and it touched me.
That was, and still is, a very difficult moment for me,
but your thoughtfulness helped ease the pain for me.
I sincerely Thank You.
Note from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle Finder: I’ll admit that Void’s “Organized Sports” is a bit of an anti-athletic song (after all, punk rock kids weren’t necessarily interested in P.E.) but the cover art image reminded me of someone swimming so it’s still a good fit imho!
