Our Scrabble Game…
Letters on our lips,
Words formed with the curl of a tongue,
Fingers arranging, flicking, shifting,
Upon our open board.
Eyes peering into each other,
The game face; the vacuum-like sound
Of your breath in a gasp
As I make my move.
Spelling uncertainty,
But hopeful in the laying down,
Our tiles cross one the other
At just the right place and time.
Her Two Cents on Our Scrabble Game
It appears there is more afoot in this game than scoring points and triple word scores using the letter “Q” (although that could be the cause of “the vacuum-like sound of your breath in a gasp as I make my move.” The future may contain uncertainty for our board-game enthusiasts, but I wonder how many points that word would be worth?
Gentle Readers: Playing board games, cards, checkers, chess… at a local pub, cafe, or meet-up group are all ways to potentially meet the apple of your eye (how many points would that be?) What’s your favorite game to settle into and have you ever met someone “interesting” as a result?
