Missed Connections in Asheville, NC
I Saw A Turtle While Mowing
and luckily i didn’t mow her ass.
the front wheels missed her.
the back wheels missed her.
the mower missed her.
the tail wheel missed her.
she just sat there as it all went by.
i saw her on the second pass around
and stopped.
i picked her up
and moved her
to the safety of the woods.
as i held her in my hand,
i looked her in the eye
and thought of you.
it was not so much a way to get to know someone at all.
it was, i suppose, a way to get to know
all that was needed. right?
i hope you are somewhere safe
and are happy and well.
toto, too.
