Missed Connections In Brooklyn, NY
Inside Out
i live in an impeccably restored handcrafted
three and a half million dollar loft
filled with the finest artisanal cheese,
wine and chocolates
i learned how to butcher my own heritage pork pigs
at a place in Williamsburg
i have an organic garden
and chicken coop
on the roof
i’ve always liked vegetables
and yet i still feel so empty inside
and out

Her Two Cents on Inside Out
I really can’t tell if this message is poking fun of Brooklyn’s nouveau riche or if our lovelorn poet is discovering that money won’t buy happiness. Either way, I simply love the grotesque nature of today’s Quinn Clip Art piece – a hanging, slaughtered human completely void on the inside.
Gentle Readers: Due to their anonymous nature, you can never tell is a MC is satire or heartfelt. Which of those two do you think it is? Any particular reason why?
