Our lovelorn Boston poet is waiting for the return of someone who has chosen another based on material assets and abundance. When I read this message, the image of a tree came to mind as they stand and wait – simple, yet strong and enduring. Amy Ng’s illustration reminded me of the story “The Giving Tree” which seemed appropriate to this situation.
Gentle Readers: There is always so much talk about what people need in order to be truly happy – and oftentimes we get our needs and our wants confused (resulting in us acquiring “things” that we think will make us happy but really don’t).
