Note from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle Finder:
As today is Earth Day, I’ve tried to feature messages referencing nature and the environment. I liked this poem from the Lexington MC because of the line, “what’s in the middle is up to you and I…”
Missed Connections in Lexington, KY
Alone
life it is a journey
we are not sure,
what is our challenge
what will be our cure,
alone we are all born
alone we will all die,
what’s in the middle
it’s up to you and I,
life is for the living
we are never sure,
around each corner
what we will endure,
how we will feel
where we will be,
time will tell
soon we will see…
Her Two Cents on Alone
While I’m sure our Lexington poet didn’t write this piece for Earth Day, the sentiments expressed can apply to any facet of our lives – including our relationship with the environment. “we are never sure, around each corner what we will endure…” Better to prepare now than be sorry later!
Gentle Readers: Just as our relationships with other humans need to be cared for and nurtured in order to survive and thrive, so too is our relationship with the Earth. Even if you didn’t celebrate Earth Day in any special way, what are some of the things you do to show your appreciation to the Earth we live on?
