Note from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle Finder:
I initially started following the Anchorage MC because I was curious to see what people in such a remote, northern place would write about. Today we feature a sampling of what you’ll find there…

Her Two Cents on Guy Crying Outside Underoath
I like this compassionate note from our Anchorage poet – clearly the incident made an impression but for whatever reason they were unable or uncomfortable with approaching the person directly. We live private lives in very public spaces and crossing those boundaries can be difficult for some. Hopefully the intended recipient saw this message and realized someone cared about them.
Gentle Readers: André Schrei’s photograph captures the raw edge of loneliness and it’s all the more arresting as the subject is male. So often in our culture men are expected to be strong and almost void of emotions of sadness or insecurity. Regardless of whether you’re male or female, what would you have done in this situation? What words or actions would you offer if you decided to approach them?
