Note from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle Finder:
While I’ve never had the opportunity to visit “NOLA” I’ve heard that it’s quite a fun and diverse stew of human activity – the kind of place where all sorts of surprises await you. Today we’re featuring a sampling of what you’ll find there.
The Accordionist
Missed Connections in New Orleans, LA
You sidled up to my friend and I on a side street, so fetching in off-kilter glasses and wild hair, playing a gorgeous old keyboard like some polka-playing fairy dream-girl. You fumbled through a request of mine you hadn’t rehearsed, but pulled it off, apologizing because you were tipsy. I adored your own romantic tune–especially the way you gazed into my eyes when you sang words of love. I was in the porkpie hat and beard, the would-be hipster. I’m sure you serenaded a few boys with that charming act last night, but maybe you’ll remember. Who are you, Frankie?
Her Two Cents on The Accordionist
Yes, just who is Frankie, the wild haired accordionist of NOLA? Is she just another busker with a flirtatious smile looking for tips to be tossed into her case or is she something more? A fairy dream-girl superimposed upon the drab landscape? Will the thought of that encounter remain or will it be brushed over, cleaned up, and eradicated over time? We shall never know… (is this what photographs are for?)
Gentle Readers: This lovelorn poet is a big fan of street art and performance. Thought-provoking murals, graffiti, posters… are just as interesting as anything in a museum. What are some of your favorite places where culture is available to all without a hefty cover charge?
