Oh Yes…
Missed Connections in
City of San Francisco, CA
there are worse things than
being alone
but it often takes decades
to realize this
and most often
when you do
it’s too late
and there’s nothing worse
than
too late.
Her Two Cents on Oh Yes…
This illustration from Quinn’s Clip Art book is one of my favorites. The other one can be found here… The image of a whispering saint (could it be St. Francis?) conveys a sort of hushed reverence but discovering the knife handle protruding from his upper shoulder adds a layer of drama and mystery. Not unlike the sentiments expressed by our lovelorn poet.
Gentle Readers: Our lovelorn San Franciscan poet writes that “…there’s nothing worse than too late.” Some would say that being too late and missing a train or a plane or the start of a movie is a drag, but is it really so terrible? Short of being in dire need for medical attention, is there ever an instance when being too late is the worst thing that could possibly happen?
