Emotional Quicksand
Missed Connections in Brooklyn, NY
I never felt this before
Language is useful for some things.
I want to be able to look you in the eyes and for you to understand how I feel about us.
I picture us outrunning a flood of snapping trees deep in a ravine.
Sorrow and misery haunt us all throughout life, I’m certain of it. One day it will come between us, I lay in bed at night and think of it.
Before that comes I want to spend my time with you.
I can make us money, food, a garden, but I cannot make more time.
Horror occurs in a moment. It can arrive without notice.
Let me in.
There is not a moment to spare.
My past with you is well lit, I have shown a light in every corner.
NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:
I had a very difficult time choose the image to go with this message. My ideals was something that captured the concrete elements but also included the dark emotions of the writer. urs/ula dee’s work conveys a beautiful conflict of opposites and in reading the supporting text on her Flickr page, I knew I had found the match I wanted.
