Note from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle Finder:
The moment I read this message Billy Bragg’s St. Swithin’s Day immediately came to mind. It’s a song from his second album (back in 1984 they were still called that) and one that manages to produce misty eyes in even the crustiest of hardened hearts. Billy went on to become pretty well known for his collaborations with Wilco, but I still think his earlier playing is the best.
Eternally Yours
Missed Connections in Brooklyn, NY
as the night thickens
into a pitch black
batch of air
and covers my body
in a blanket of
dreams
i drift along in
this glorious
abyss
and think of all
the times i
miss
you
