Note from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle Finder:
Rhyming poems can be easy to construct but don’t always work well for setting conveying emotions in a serious manner. This piece from our lovelorn Seattle-ite takes a rhyming scheme and combines it with visual imagery making it a rather appealing and wistful poem. Favorite line here is “I believe she believes in dreams…”
I Wish You Knew
Missed Connections in Seattle-Tacoma, WA
I think she thinks she’s alone
Distant eyes and miles away
Dancing circles around my head
Tragic silence of having nothing to say
I dream she believes in dreams
Begs never to awake
The kind that make her cry
And smiles you can’t fake
I hope she hopes for me
Patience is for the dead
Though I wait for the right time
To get these words out of my head
