Unrequited?
Missed Connections in Sacramento
I think of you
Eyes so blue
Me, you would never recognize
But maybe you would sympathize
With how I feel
Thinking what I felt was real
So drawn to your appeal
Left reeling
And unable to clear my head
Wondering what you would look like in bed
In the morning, just before the light
I think about you most often at night
These feelings just can’t be right
Because I don’t even know you
And you don’t know me
But in your eyes
I saw how much we could be
Maybe it was destiny
But I was too afraid to face
What could have taken place
Instead I ran from it
and I ran from my feelings too
I couldn’t even talk to you
What would I say?
I couldn’t have had you anyway.
Now that you don’t work there anymore,
I think about you even more than before…
NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:
This is only the second missed connection I’ve featured from Sacramento. My impression is that once you get beyond the San Francisco MC it’s slim pickings for finding messages that are unique, heartfelt, or interesting. I’ve held off following the Los Angeles feed as it’s ginormous (and while I LOVE the lovelorn poets I don’t want to spend my entire day scanning feeds…) so my hope is that someday I’ll find a west-coast correspondent! 🙂

NICE site – love the combination of poetry and artwork and serendipitous connections – especially like the line of could not have had you anyway.

I’ve recently found several good messages from Sacramento so we’ll be reading more from them. I just love the missed connections messages and finding the ones to publish is like hunting for treasure. And matching up the music and art, well, that’s the icing on the cake!
