An Empty [ ]
Missed Connections in Salt Lake City
You were once a work of complex, exceptional beauty.
Now, an empty mystery.
A hollow solution to a problem not worth equating.
You will be missed entirely, though not mourned.
NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:
I believe Tom Stoppard sums this up nicely in his history-meets-mathematics romantic comedy, Arcadia. “When we have found all the meanings and lost all the mysteries, we will be alone, on an empty shore.” I suppose this holds true for both the secrets of science and the hidden histories of humans.
