I See You Almost Everyday
Missed Connections in Seattle-Tacoma
today could be different
there’s a growing tension
and smell of rain in the air
I dream of her too often to
continue saying nothing
what words could I fumble together
can’t even convince myself of a good reason
tomorrow might be different
NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:
Today could be different if someone did something different, dear Seattle poet. I don’t think it’s enough to simply think “different” thoughts, those thoughts need to propel us to action. A fumble is still better than refusing to catch the ball – and that would certainly make tomorrow something that today isn’t.
