We Were So Close…
Missed Connections in Rhode Island
I know we had our ups and downs but really hoped we weren’t going to go into this continuous downward spiral.
I was hoping for some change between us so we could be on the upward bound but it appears everyone is afraid of change.
All we can do now is as our slogan states, HOPE.
Hope for the best,
hope it gets better.
I know I have been and will miss you until you come back to a state that is tolerable.
As for me I will be anchored here in port waiting.
Such a let down!
NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:
I hear you loud and clear poet! As an economic emigrant from the “biggest little state in the union” I wonder is this message was written not for a specific individual but as a general lament about the state of the State. Mad Peck’s quasi- legendary comic illustrated this point so well, “…Friendship is a one way street, rich folks live on Power, but most of us live off Hope.” How long you can tolerate treading water in port before ditching that anchor and sailing for other shores?
