You Were that Girl Making Paper Cranes
Missed Connections in Brooklyn
You were making paper cranes, and you were making more then one….
so I know you want to make 1000 so that you could make a wish.
I was sitting across from you with a different girl/women,
I had brown hair with bangs black button down shirt and cargo shorts.
Maybe I shouldn’t know…
but being aware of the fact that you’re actually trying to make 1000 paper cranes so that you could hang up and make I wish…
I know it has to be something serious and I just want to know what you want to wish for.
And I hope that your wish comes true.
Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
Like our Brooklyn missed connections writer, I was also curious about the reason why people make paper cranes. The Wikipedia article I linked to mentions their symbolism for good luck in marriage, welcoming a new baby, or to accompany a grave. Sounds to me like the cranes are for assisting a person on a life (or beyond life) transition. While 1,000 origami cranes might help ease emotions during a time of change, so might a good friend – I hope our poet was given that chance!
