Through the end of the year I’ll be digging into the Lovelorn Poets missed connections archive and publishing some of the gems you may not have caught the first time around – enjoy!
An Ode to GranDaisy Bakery Boy
Missed Connections in Manhattan
originally published on September 27
Dear GranDaisy Bakery Boy,
While I have always enjoyed this little shop.
I declare this Autumn day it’s my favorite spot
With your sweet smile and wisps of red hair.
You made me blush, my tea went everywhere!
At your sweet bidding I had your Raspberry Tart.
I shyly smiled back, then ate it in the park.
It’s very hard not to want seconds…
Thank you!
NOTE FROM THE MISSED CONNECTIONS CHIEF BOTTLE FINDER:
It’s poems like this one that make me love missed connections. Take one part embarrassing incident, two parts cute smiling, a dash of nice weather, a dose of creative rhyming – shake, stir, and type it up and you have a recipe for infatuation. Sweet!
