Through the end of the year I’ll be digging into the Lovelorn Poets missed connections archive and publishing some of the gems you may not have caught the first time around – enjoy!
Blue
Missed Connections in Boston
originally published on November 15
Blue
as in the color of april skies,
or blue as in eye color,
or blue as in those jeans,
or a blue head cover or just blue in general?
It has been a long time and I really want to deliver (in person) my genuine apology to you.
I have access to lots of things in life,
but the one thing I care about still after all this time is looking you in the eyes and just admitting I did something wrong and to say I’m sorry.
Even if you don’t, won’t, and never will forgive me,
I still want to do it.
Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
There are times when a missed connections apology letter just tugs at the heart-strings! True, it sounds like our poet did commit some sort of emotional transgression that warranted whatever form of exile they’ve been sentenced to, but there’s something to be said for the desire to apologize and perhaps, the grace of forgiveness. Letting go of the pain and anger, for both the inflictor and the inflicted, isn’t always easy, but I think we become more peaceful people when we do.
