A Force Of Nature

There’s a quaint little boulevard in the back of my mind
where one can see such treasures
each item encased in a box with a glass window
displaying a sign that reads
do not disturb
containing not only objects and treasures
but the actual air from that particular
time period
air that’s saturated with the original scents
of the day and like an exotic
rare perfume
one is instantly transported
back
to a place that only exists
in the backroads
of their
mind

Never underestimate the power of a flower or the force of nature
One Year Ago: Lovelorn Poet in Raleigh-Durham, NC: A for J
Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
“Never underestimate the power of a flower or the force of nature.” Whether it’s February 14th or any of the other 364 days, it’s the simple, heartfelt treasures that linger longest in the mind. People come and people go, but those joyful memories are always there – behind the glass, just waiting for us to revisit them and enjoy the sensations all over again.
