Lost In Space
Missed Connections in Brooklyn
1
Goodbye
If you reach the Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy describe the bluest star you see
perhaps then I’ll describe to you what it looks like from our Earth
which right now is a light clouded view
Hello
quite frankly, I couldn’t sleep the last night I spent in harlem
and I love reading people’s bared moments on missed
Connections
but yours was neither a lusting plea nor a vengeful rant
it simply was very beautiful
I’ve been lucky to find one source of such beauty, thank you dearly
I hope you wake up one breath happier than the day before
Sleep
my words merely skim the emotions you evoke with your passage
their fragile sacredness reflects deeply of how much you care
about everything you hold
Dear
and as for this world’s inhabitants every gorgeous creature’s
beauty is magnified under such a doting
Mind
I’m so grateful of your honesty as I’ve not yet left this world to
compare it to it’s siblings but your love has drawn a
Map

Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
It’s very rare I post a message that hasn’t already expired or “disappeared” from its missed connections forum, but Brooklyn poet Lee Taylor sent me an email about this one, and it was too good to pass up for our Friday poem of the day. This particular piece incorporates a response Lee received to one of his previous postings on the Brooklyn feed. This new piece was posted yesterday – and if you’re lucky you might be able to find it (and perhaps write a response which would in turn generate another poem which would…)
