An Odd Time to Smile
Missed Connections in New Orleans
I find it odd, perhaps even interesting, that you elected to smile at me while I was waiting to cross the street.
I assume the smile was simply a friendly one to alert me of the obvious, a car was coming and thus it was inopportune time to cross the street.
Nonetheless, thank you for you warm smile.
Pedestrians, like myself, often receive nastier looks for simply wanting to cross the street.

Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
The nature of the pedestrian-driver relationship all depends on which role you’re playing. As a pedestrian, there are few things more dangerous than drivers not adhering to a crosswalk. As a driver, random humans walking into the road unexpectedly is enough to increase blood pressure and expletive usage. Have most people forgotten the rules of the road or are they really that hard to follow?
