Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
During my lunch today I had a chance to watch the KONY 2012 video that’s been circulating like wildfire this week. The message is powerful, emotional, and one that only those with closed minds and hearts could possible ignore. It’s almost a rite of passage for children in the western world to be afraid of monsters under the bed, or in the closet, and it’s hard to image what those fears would be like if they were real, and not imaginary ones. The KONY 2012 campaign is about closing a missed connection – through word of mouth, sharing, donating, and making a voice heard. But more importantly, it’s also about forcing our ADHD, warp-speed, oversharing-overloaded minds to remember this issue next month, next week, tomorrow. Make a plan to “forget to forget.”
