Missed Connections in Anchorage
u
me
in the house
in the dark
playing hide n seek
with the kids
the kids were IT
after looking over here, over there,
for a perfect hiding spot
last minute I slipped quietly into the broom closet
suddenly I felt something touch my….before I had a chance to scream
you cupped my mouth from behind and pulled me in close n tight almost hard
then you started to kiss my neck and whisper sweet yet naughty punishments
for almost giving away your hiding spot
as I stood there weak in the knees awaiting to see their silly little faces sneaking up on us
my heart smiled for all the misplaced pieces finally found their proper place!
The stars on high shining bright-Sweet dreams, my darling, sleep well…good night~
Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
Something about this missed connections poem of the day reminded me of high school (or at least of being 15…). I think it’s the whole “having a friend come over and visit while babysitting” scenario and then playing fun games so the kids won’t narc on you. 🙂 Hiding in the closet might not be terribly original, but it can have some surprisingly pleasant results!
