Dear Athens…
Missed Connections in Athens
I just want to apologize for the noise pollution I have caused.
My Volkswagen (like many other vws) has some problems.
For the past month the most obvious problem has been that the horn goes off at inopportune moments . . .
like when I turn on the blinker or the windshield wipers.
Today, the horn began going off whenever the wheel was at an angle.
GOD FORBID I needed to turn at an intersection, navigate a lot, or pull into a parking space.
I promise that I wasn’t attempting to gain your attention or criticize your driving.
I feel terrible for frightening countless pedestrians and small dogs.
This needless honking is no more,
as I have disconnected the horn.
Sorry again,

Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
Way to go, poet! Those VWs are notorious for expensive electrical problems so your solution of disconnecting the horn sounds like a very cost-effective one. Hopefully the radio and directionals weren’t compromised when you pulled the plug. The only concern pedestrians and small dogs may have is they won’t get any sort of warning when your breaks fail or the acceleration pedal gets stuck. But I guess you can worry about that when the times comes…
