We Did Not Share A Moment
Missed Connections in Brooklyn
I was at home, looking at the missed connections section of craigslist.
So were you.
We both kind of thought to ourselves,
“Ugh, why am I looking at this? It’s so depressing,”
but kept clicking anyways.
We did not catch eyes or smile at one another.
We probably would not find one another attractive.
We do not watch the same TV shows or read the same books.
We’re both vaguely looking for something though,
and feel sort of stupid about it.
Her Two Cents from the Missed Connections Chief Bottle-Finder:
Poor Brooklyn poet! Are you feeling silly because you’re looking to see if someone has written a message for you and not finding one? (given the volume of the NYC feed it’s kind of surprising but it is a big city…) My suggestion? Either write one for someone who catches your eye OR start riding that L train all day long wearing something eye-catching and colorful. Really, it will happen if you want it to.
