kOOL DREAm 5
Missed Connections from Anchorage
u
me
cool summer night
a little over 18 years from now
both us with just a tad more gray
and a smidge more wrinkles
rocking on our front porch
gazing into the Knight Sky
your complaining about your back
and I’m offering to rub on the icy hot
My feet are cold
as I seemed to misplace my slipper socks
allowing our minds to wander
there is an overwhelming sense of proudness of our children’s accomplishments
and gratefulness for the prosperity of our legacy
smiling rocking and cherishing every moment of time left in our future with each other 🙂
Her Two Cents
A number of these kOOL DREAm pieces appeared on the Anchorage feed a ways back – in fact, I featured one back in March. I love discovering these hidden pockets of creativity and expression. Some are fleeting, others persist for years, and I have to wonder about the people behind the words. Will our writer remember this poem in eighteen years? Will their life resemble what they had dreamed? This pretty song by Alexi Murdoch provides a canvas for letting your thoughts ramble and expand as you think about today and tomorrow.
