Missed Connections in Brooklyn
1
walking through the artificial forest and breathing the plastic air
we sip soda from styrofoam cups and stroll happily along
the pine strewn path
laying down to rest under a blue frozen sky
and looking up at the wind as it blew our
mind
suddenly chilled stirred and shaken
we awakened in an empty room
with a giant sun
and it almost looked
real
11
we stumbled over the littered landscape walking
across a thousand hard drives loaded
with a million mega bites of frozen
memories
your hair was beyond blond and you looked
beautiful dressed in your mood fabric
of ever changing colors
beneath a red moon, we walked
into an empty room with a
giant sun
and it almost looked
real

Her Two Cents
My January landscape has turned monochromatic. White snow refusing to lose an inch morphs into slick milky patches. Toxic grey granules gradually burrow their way through leaving streets the same washed-out color of the sky. Bare tree trunks and buildings are as dark as the crows taking flight each morning and returning with the evening rush hour. The only colors I see come from the electrified brilliance of the high-tech billboard across the river. It flashes and entices like a summer party, but leaves me feeling cold.
