Principessa, The Poetry Of Silence…
Missed Connections from New Haven
which exists between us
allows an agony in me
I could have never imagined.
The grammar of my being
has been essentially changed.
Words written here
grant me little comfort.
One remains, hard as sapphire.
Blue as the sea.
Love.
Her Two Cents
Principessa was a Mexican telenova, or soap opera, that aired in the early 1980s. I’ll admit to not fully understanding this poem from New Haven, or the reference to the television show, but there are two lines I find myself drawn back to over and over “the poetry of silence which exists between us” and “the grammar of my being has been essentially changed.” Even without a literal translation, the combinations create a story I want to follow.
