City Bar
Missed Connections in Madison
The greatest poem ever written
was never published.
It was written on a napkin
and purloined
by a young lady
searching for meaning
and discarded when
she found it
undecipherable.
You left too soon.
I would have loved you like no other.
Her Two Cents
If you happen to be in Madison’s City Bar and notice someone scribbling on a cocktail napkin, don’t let an unsuspecting, unaware individual leave it for a crumpled mess next to the bowls of peanuts and empty pint glasses. The riddle of an undecipherable “greatest poem ever” is too good a curiosity to pass up. As Paul Westerberg says, this could be the best thing you never had.
