The Hours
Missed Connections in Brooklyn
i turn up the volume hoping to wash out
the background noise

a sadness this deep doesn’t leave

Her Two Cents
I’m currently reading Hermann Hesse’s book, Siddhartha. There’s a part of the story where Siddhartha, after spending years as a wealthy merchant surrounded by the trappings of the physical world, leaves this money and material goods to spend his days in meditation near a river. The stillness allows him to reconnect with his soul and opens his senses to the voices of nature. Sometimes, quiet can be the best salve for the spirit.
