Let The World Watch It Grow
I want to plant a seed and watch it grow.
What it will be I do not know, but I will watch it grow.
I found this seed a long time ago.
I didn’t know then what to do, but now I know.
I will watch it grow.
This little seed has a tough shell, but deep inside it is full of life.
This I know.
I think a few drops of water may do it well. Yes, that will soften this shell.
I will watch it grow.
I do not know yet what it may be.
It could be a weed or perhaps a tree, but there is life in this seed, so I will plant it and wish it well.
I will watch it grow.
Look my seed is starting to sprout!
Makes me want to stand up and shout, but there is much work left to do if I am to watch this grow.
Lots of water should do it well.
I will nurture this seed that is full of life no matter the sacrifice I will watch it grow.
I think my seed must be a tree.
Yes that is what this must be.
Just look at the branches full of leaves, this tree of life is worth any sacrifice.
So I watch it grow.
My tree is growing and growing wild.
It is full of life this tree, but too many branches is all I can see.
Cutting just a few is what I must do.
So I watch it grow.
A few bad branches out and it is clearer to see.
This tree of life is stronger than ever.
The bad branches dragging it down had to go so my tree could live much longer.
I will watch it grow.
I planted a seed to watch it grow.
This tree of life is now what I know.
It may have a few scars, but look look past those and you can see.
My tree stands tall and perfect to me.
All because of one little seed.
Her Two Cents
The transition between the old year and the new one is always an ideal time for thinking back and thinking ahead. What happened to the seeds you planted last year? Are they starting to take root? And what about the ones from years prior? Have they been going through some changes, some growing pains? And what about for this year ahead? Surely you have a few great ideas whose time has finally come. May all your ideas have ample water and sunshine in 2014!
