Please
Don’t get
Your hopes
Up:
This is a connection
Missed
For Humanity.
Loving You
Like I Love
Me.
Problem is:
Gotta learn the
Latter/Ladder/
First.
Can you feel
The Beat
In the text?
This is real
Virtual sex:
Wisdom Viral.
But she’s no
Disease.
She’s the Cure.
And she’s all
Yours.
Theseus’
String
With
Prometheus’
Flame.
Snatched back
For the flash.
And the
Spark
Let’s light
This wire.
We’re brighter
Together
Louder
In Concert.
Bring the Boom
I got the Bass
We got The Line
And the Beat.
Just need
The Movement.
No fuckin time
For defeat.
Respect Your Self
And Every One
Else.
Her Two Cents
This is real. For Humanity. Respect Your Self.
As you climb the ladder toward the light, be sure to mind your head and back.
AP says
I thought of two things as I read. The way a friend of mine used to point out that many of the problems in the world are rooted in the unfortunate way people respond to the call to “love your neighbor, as yourself.” “Too many,” he liked to say, “do just that.”
Another aspect of this is something Christian Wiman wrote of in a piece for The American Scholar. Reflecting on his struggles with an incurable cancer, and living life, he climbs the ladder, and gets importance of respecting not just yourself, but others saying: “The temptation is to make an idol of our own experience, to assume our pain is more singular than it is. . . . Experience means nothing if it does not mean beyond itself: we mean nothing unless and until our hard – won meanings are internalized and catalyzed within the lives of others.”¹ That minding one’s head, heart, back, and neighbor.
