The weather changes
rather quickly around here.
But my heart does not.
Some romances are like these crazy winter days.
Hot and then cold, so shiny bright, then black clouds hovering.
It’s so unpredictable. (or some people are just hard to understand.)
Not me though. I’m impermeable and securely moored. I can weather any storm.
I will not need these talents with you. You are not the stormy type,
and we have seen only ‘red sky at night’ and never ‘red in the morning.’
But it more for you to know that I cannot be swamped or sunk by life’s passing torrents;
I am self righting and buoyant.
So bring sunglasses and sunscreen, and your gloves and rain hat.
We’re ready for any occasion.
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad, and meteorologically-influenced-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? Don’t even waste your time with the Weather Channel, just email the link to Lovelorn Poets! We’ll preserve those red-sky-syllables for all eternity.
