Buddha texted me.
He says I do not really
exist without you.
Just kidding.
Actually he said, “None of us exist without each other,” but I have enough on my plate with just our group here, that I adapted it. I’m not ready for every sentient being to fit into one haiku.
The problem is that brother Buddha might not understand modern dating. He keeps texting me messages that could mean lots of different stuff all at the same time (with his clever ageless words.)
But I hear them in contemporary speech like this:
* Other people have feelings too. Even assholes.
* We all want to be happy and avoid suffering. Even bullies.
* Our actions have consequences, so shape up!
* Act right! Nothing lasts forever, true, but hurt feelings last a loong time.
(and P.S. Buddha… Can you give me a break about the Middle Path already? The median strip ruined my car.)
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad, and buddha-for-you-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? Before striking out on the Middle Path, email the link to Lovelorn Poets! We’ll preserve those sadhana-sitting-syllables for all eternity.

I’m curious why some poems I see on your site do not show up on the missed connection board specified. I have noticed this a few times with the Seattle board, which I regularly read and post on. I will a poem on this site but when I look at M.C. it’s not there. Why?
lovelornpoets says
The reason is that the MC board is wiped clean every 7 days (some cities are on a different schedule – up to 45 days – but the high volume boards are at 7). The author(s) of Haiku for Hopefuls, Haiku for Hearts, Haiku for the Hapless…. have been publishing these pieces for almost a year an a half – on a near daily basis. Some of the ones I have published here date back several months. I have not saved every poem, but I have a great many, and plan on publishing one every Tuesday for the unforeseeable future.
