To move from the past
into the future, I would
cut and burn my hair.
Rebirthing. Rising from the ashes. Ritual bath. Take two. Clean break. Round the corner. Turn the page. Start with a clean slate.
There must be a thousand rituals we can do to move from our troubles and mistakes into a bright new way of living, thinking or being. I really don’t have enough hair to make a good fire, but I can find another way to step through the door of personal transition.
We can’t escape the consequences of our past actions. If we caused some damage, it may still be a source of difficulty or pain. On the flip side, no one can take away our loving moments and good deeds either.
The key for me, is to see each day as the chance to be better, and do better than before. No set limit or mile markers. Just better than before each time I can.
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad, and hair-burning-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? Before you get your Phoenix on, email the link to Lovelorn Poets! We’ll preserve those continuously-improving-syllables for all eternity.
