Posting to “no one”
is like shouting in the wind
except I hear it.
I know you (out there) can see these posts, and either, wonder why I do this,
or you understand why I do it.
Everyone has highs and lows; best days and worst ones ever.
They only last a day, good or bad, only to begin again the next morning.
This is a place of hopefulness where lost-crossed lovers, and seekers stop for a look.
This is where we can drop our defenses and exclaim our hopes and desires.
A place where dreams might come true.
I share my experiences with you, not because they are so lucky, or inspiring, (far from that)
but because they are truly mine.
My shields and masks are down, and I stand exposed and un-hidden.
I strip off my suit of armor, and shiver exposed in a thin shirt of human curiosity.
We all have chances to show kindness, and to receive it, watching out for the thorns and barbs
that line our shared path.
Steadily, but lightly, we each try to find our own way home.
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad and wind-blown-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? Whether it’s a good day or a bad one, send the link to Lovelorn Poets. We’ll preserve those steadily-searching-syllables for all eternity.
