Does the universe
realize that we all search
for one special thing?
I know deep down that life is random, and that we are not being ignored or overlooked on purpose. But the idea that wishes can eventually be answered gives hope when there is nothing else left to rely upon.
Prayers are not answered, and pennies cast into wishing wells are forgotten once the ripples in the water have gone.
Still I will use hope and courage to keep climbing this wall, and only look up, since there is nothing below to help me to reach a place where I can rest
I look for that elusive moment when I can be on solid ground again.
It is hidden, but not lost.
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad and unanswered-prayers-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? Before you throw your hard-earned change into a wishing well, send the link to Lovelorn Poets! We’ll preserve those solidly-special-syllables for all eternity.
