When storm clouds arrive
to turn the afternoon dark,
it hurts my feelings.
I know it is just Nature doing her thing, but I still take it personally.
That haunting opaque blanket of clouds fills the sky, blocks the light and darkens my perspective.
Our worries and burdens seem heavier when it is cold and wet, and the water reflects the black canvas above.
It’s time for the dog and me to find more bedding and turn up the heat, cover our heads and wait for a better day.
