Some New Years’ wishes
can lose their power quickly
like resolutions.
This happens to me, too. I start out with a good intention
but risk falling back into the old ways of thinking or acting.
I don’t have any reason to believe in good or bad luck.
We swim in a pool of random outcomes.
But I try to reach out and help others,
just in case it comes back around.
Like January, February, and March.
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad and new-year-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? Before you lose your resolve, email the link to Lovelorn Poets. We’ll preserve those wishful-syllables for all eternity.
