The Buddha tells me
that we can’t avoid old age
by running away.
So we should live life fully now while we are strong
and take care of our bodies for later when we are not.
The morning’s joy slowly fades into the anxiety of night
and the darkness of an unknown tomorrow.
I brace myself to face the hours of silence that mark the passage from
today until tomorrow, and today’s struggles become tomorrow’s hurdles.
Missed Connections are filled with good, bad and worrisome-haiku. Did you write one? Did you find one? Take a breath, stay in the moment and email the link to Lovelorn Poets. We’ll preserve those silently-suffering-syllables for all eternity.
