I came from a hundred miles away
To see the city of my family;
I had a pocket full of money,
And a head full of aspiration.
Now I lay awake at night
Listening to trains sing –
They cry out and the city heeds;
Industry is dying, commerce is up
While thousands of kids spin
Their lives and loves are concentric
Where does that leave me?
What am I supposed to do?
Who do I even want to be?
I think there’s a conspiracy:
The public welcomes all
While the beast, behind bars
Grows hungry

The Pittsburgh Missed Connections feed has pretty much gone away due to constant flagging and removal of almost all posted messages (even those that appear to be legitimate missed connections). It’s kind of a shame as there had been some interesting writing that appeared there fairly regularly.
