Pass the Assassin’s End historical sign
at 55 mph there’s no way I’m reading small print
I’ll read it when I stop
it’s about John Wilkes Booth, Confederate, killer of Lincoln
the sign is about his fateful end
the reading is interesting
Mary Surratt must have been some innkeeper
being executed and all
history can be interesting
but the only thing I see
is a confederate flag on a car
a confederate flag on a pole
as I contemplate a sin

We all have a need
whatever it is
it reminds us of Eden
Another thoughtful piece from one of the Flagstaff Missed Connections poets. I wonder if this person went on to publish their poems and stories in a place that wasn’t anonymous… we’ll probably never know.
