It was all about ballast & banisters that night
as the first kept him
grounded
as his dreams took flight while the other
gave him something to hold
on tight
and we’ve covered the earth in plastic
and saturated the seas in our
own shit and come to
think of
it
and then spring sprung again and
flung it’s cobalt blue indigo
dreams
in between the sun shine like
a chelated mineral
on the
slip
of a dime and time was
like a flash bulb
fever
play
as the emotions
washed
over
us
wow you can’t use a picture anymore, how sad
mindgallery
I think mindgallery published this poem to the Brooklyn Missed Connections shortly after Craigslist shifted the forum to the Community section and removed the ability to post images along with posts. The mindgallery image I chose to accompany this piece is from an early poem called Coy & Paste but it works well with this one too.
