A lone red beacon
in a sea of dark sorrow
I can see your heart
Beyond all solace
All I have left is faint hope
And love strong as truth
Long nights full of pain
Are water beneath my boat
With you in my heart
You are just as soft
As a newborn baby’s hair
And strong as diamonds
Come away with me
The far courts of paradise
Will be our new home
Your arms around me,
I will take you to heaven
On a winged steed
We’ll find someplace where
Summer lasts forever and
God’s Love grows on trees
While Seattle might be the world record holder for missed connections haiku, they did appear on other forums on occasion. Writing one poem (that has coherence and meaning) using seven haiku is no simple feat. Some people would argue that a haiku is about more than just following a syllable count, but in my book, doing something is always better than doing nothing (and way better than doing nothing but complaining about people doing something).
