I do failure really well
Even though most think I’m a success
I fear winning
The pressure of keeping it going
Almost to much to bear
Failure gives me something to work on
Angst is my black t-shirt
Money a secondary pleasure
New and shiny is temporary
My heart is vintage
My watch a wind-up
Respecting my cloudy day
Here’s another poem from Do the Math that dates back a few years. It’s another cloudy day in a string of cloudy days here in my corner of the world and these words from the NYC Missed Connections caught my attention as I was scrolling somewhat listlessly through the LLP archive of nearly forgotten poems.
